2009年6月16日，北京保利剧院管理有限公司正式签署《重庆大剧院委托经营管理合同》，于2009年11月1日由重庆市保利剧院管理有限公司正式经营管理，并选定世界经典音乐剧《猫》作为重庆大剧院首演剧目。
重庆市保利剧院管理有限公司是由北京保利剧院管理有限公司和重庆市演出公司合作投资成立。并由重庆市国有文化资产经营管理有限公司和重庆市江北嘴中央商务区投资发展有限公司作为重庆大剧院业主，委托重庆市保利剧院管理有限公司负责重庆大剧院经营管理工作。公司凭借北京保利剧院管理有限公司丰富的剧院管理经验，以“专业水平高、管理标准高、服务品位高、经营水平高、社会形象高”作为公司经营管理目标，在市政府采取的“行业管理、委托经营、市场运作、政府补贴”的全新运营管理模式下，致力于将重庆大剧院打造成为西南地区最具影响力的文化演出阵地。

On June 16, 2009, Beijing Poly Theatre Management Co., Ltd. has signed the Chongqing Grand Theatre Entrusted Management Contract in due form. And Chongqing Poly Theatre Management Co., Ltd. will officially manage the Theatre on November 1, 2009, and has selected global classic music drama CAT as the first performance of the Theatre.
Chongqing Poly Theatre Management Co., Ltd. is invested by Beijing Poly Theatre Management Co., Ltd. and Chongqing Performance Company. As the owner of Chongqing Grand Theatre, Chongqing State-owned Cultural Property Management Co., Ltd. and Chongqing Jiangbeizui CBD Investment & Development Co., Ltd. entrust Chongqing Poly Theatre Management Co., Ltd. to take charge of the management of Chongqing Grand Theatre. With rich management experience of Beijing Poly Theatre Management Co., Ltd. and under the wholly new management mode of “industry management, entrusted management, market operation and government subsidy” taken by municipal government, Chongqing Poly Theatre Management Co., Ltd. takes “high professional level, high management standard, high service level and high social image” as its management target, and commits itself to create Chongqing Grand Theatre as the cultural performance position with the most influence in Southwestern China.
Chongqing Poly Theatre Management Co., Ltd. will introduce high-quality, high-level, diversified and excellent dramas at home and abroad every year to enable Chongqing people to enjoy elegant art; and will make active efforts for cultural construction and prosperity of Chongqing; enhance art cultivation of the masses; and play a promotion role in improving the performance quality and developing elegant art and culture.
